Activities

Sunday Service of Worship

Sunday services start at 9:30am and are informal in structure, with members encouraged to participate and contribute during the services. Our focus is the worship of Jesus Christ, reading of Scripture, prayer and the preaching of The Gospel.

The Lord's Table (Communion) is shared every week, and is open to all who believe in Jesus Christ.

We sing a mix of traditional hymns, choruses and contemporary songs, with music provided by keyboard or a couple of guitars with other musicians joining from time to time.

Shared Lunch: On the fourth Sunday of the month we share lunch together after the service, but only when there are five Sundays in the month.

Wednesday Night Seminar: Old Shed FRESH INSIGHTS

Each Wednesday Night during school terms, starting at 7:20pm, we meet to read and discuss passages of Scripture, beginning with about 15 minutes of worship.

This provides the opportunity for people to contribute through insights, questions and discussion as together we dig into the Holy Scriptures.

Refer to Like to visit? for more information, or ring 0413 248 622.

Sunday Night Food and Fellowship

At 6:00PM on the last Sunday of each month we gather for a meal (BYO) and time of informal fellowship. This provides the opportunity to share about topical issues or passages of Scripture and to encourage one another. It’s about Christians meeting together because they’re Christians.

It’s held at The Shed.

Youth and Children’s Work

We are a church of 20-30 with few youth and children. Consequently we encourage our youth to join with groups at other churches.

Children are catered for during the Sunday service with a children’s talk and structured activities led by appropriately trained and screened leaders. There are no children’s programs at other times.

Prayer

A prayer meeting focussing on the persecuted church is held on the first Sunday of each month, at the same location as the Sunday Services, starting at 8:15AM. This is one of the emphases of The Branches to remember those who are suffering for the sake of Christ.

Special purpose prayer meetings are called as and when required.

For those with particular needs, on the basis of Scripture (James 5:14), we encourage them to ask the elders to pray for them.

Women’s Meetings

Each second Saturday of the month, the women meet for coffee at 10:30am at Endue Café, 901 Grand Junction Road, Valley View. All welcome.

Men’s Meetings

Each Saturday at 8:15am, a group of men meet at the Shelley Street Deli, corner of Shelley Street and North East Road, Tea Tree Gully, for coffee, breakfast and a chat about topics of the day. All welcome.
